Just this past week, a copy of Google’s manual review guidelines was leaked.
You can download the Google Manual Review Document here:
Google Manual Review Document
and have a look for yourself.

There are all sorts of take aways from this, including an outline for how you should be designing your sites and pages at minimum. This is an internal Google document that is used by Google employees when manually reviewing websites. So, if your site passes this, at minimum you should have no problem passing a manual review. How closely their algo matches this is another question, but…

Anyway, enjoy, that’s it for now, I wanted to put this up, and will comment more later.

Scribe SEO

Scribe SEO is a software that will help you focus your writing efforts, get better rankings, and potentially be exposed to new keywords and angles on your niche that you otherwise might not be aware of, thus potentially increasing your audience and client base.

With Scribe SEO the bottom line of what it does is content optimization. If you are writing a blog post, landing page, article, or whatever, usually your goal is to get across a message, and get that message out, and more often than not, get your audience to take some sort of action. If your articles, posts, blogs, etc. aren’t found you might as well not write them. By optimizing your content, you’ll stand a much better chance of being indexed and ranked in the search engines, and getting in front of your target audience and getting them to take the action you desire.

According to the Scribe SEO website, “SEO comes down to three basic things: 1. The language searchers use, 2. The way search engines view your content, and 3. The trust search engines have in your site.”

They further go on to say: “Our Scribe SEO software makes these three basic steps easier and more efficient than ever.”

Scribe SEO accomplishes this by a three step process

They accomplish this by first having a keyword research tool that helps align you with the best optimized content before you create it. Scribe SEO shows you keyword phrases that you might have overlooked or missed, or been unaware of entirely, thus opening up your exposure to potentially interested parties and clients, and ultimately, your income – more targeted visitors and exposure = more sales and commissions.

Scribe SEO takes the second step of analyzing your content, revealing steps that you can take to tweek your content to make it more search engine friendly, based upon seo best practices.

As if that were not enough in and of itself, Scribe SEO then unleashes it’s linkbuilding and social media tools, which assist you with building backlinks from other sites, crosslinking the content on your own site, and finally assist in the identification of influential social media users whom can help you get the word out by sharing your content.

Scribe SEO is a very powerful tool, and a highly recommended one to add to the arsenal of any serious SEO or even business running their own blog looking for a leg up in the serps and a good swift kick to propel their articles up in the search engines. Sean Jackson, the developer of Scribe SEO is a wild one, has a proven track record, and a really good guy who’s developed quite a tool. Check out Scribe SEO here today.

Where you put your keywords on your pages makes a big difference in the on page optimization of your pages and of your ability to rank.

On page keyword placement is the next part we are going to cover as far as keywords and on page optimization. We’ve already covered the importance of incorporating your keywords into your domain name, your title tag, and into your meta description as well as meta keywords tags.

Just to quickly recap, if you haven’t registered a domain name, you would want to include your keywords in your domain name if possible.

Now, the most important part of incorporating your keywords into your page would be your title tag. This is one of the things that tells the search engines what your page is about. This is limited to 65 characters in Google. You would also want to include your main keywords first here, with out keyword stuffing, or going overboard. For example, if yor company name was Widget World and you sold blue widgets, you wouldn’t want your title tag to read “Widget World – Blue Widgets, Red Widgets, Orange Widgets, Widgets, and more Widgets.” You would want to include your main keyword first, and then maybe another keyword or two and then your company name. In this example something like “Blue Widgets, How to find the best widgets – Widget World.” You want to incorporate you best keyword first, and then a variation thereof, and then your company name.

Another common mistake is having either no title tag or the same title tag for each page on your site. Home Page, Welcome to our Home Page, Untitled Documents, etc. are the WORST things you can have.

In short, incorporate your primary keyword and a variation thereof, possibly a secondary keyword and then your company name.

In last week’s e-mail, we also discussed the importance of your meta description and meta keywords tags.

Now, we have your page text. You want to include your keywords in the body text of your page. Having your keywords in images that are not crawlable by spiders doesn’t help, as well. You would want to include your primary keywords as the first words on your page, in H1 tags, and then naturally incorporated throughout the text on your page. There is no magic number for keyword density (or the amount or percentage of text that is your actual keyword), but it is important to include your keywords predominantly on your page.

The on page search engine optimization of your pages will be greatly helped out by following these few simple guidelines.
